Dual Vocational Training Nursing

Doing a Dual Vocational Training Germany: Nursing Ausbildung zur Pflegefachfrau/ zum Pflegefachmann

By 2020, all nursing professions (general, geriatric, and pediatric nurses) will be trained together for the first two years. In the third year, you can choose an area of specialisation.

This training requires three years, accounting for a total of 2500 hours of theory and practice combined. At the end of this course, you are expected to pass a state examination. After completing your training successfully, you will have an opportunity to work in the healthcare sector.

However, this training applies only to Germany. Degrees with a specification in geriatric care or childcare are not recognised across Europe. If you are looking to work outside Germany, an examination to identify your training must be completed.State training funds the costs of generalist nursing training.

The vocational schools and the training companies receive a pro rata reimbursement of the costs of the training. This funding makes it possible for you to complete this training free of charge.
