Where are you from?
Basically I am from Kerala, India. Now I have been living in Germany for 3 Years.
What are you studying?
I study MBA Logistics and supply chain management
Why did you decide to study in Germany?
I chose Germany because the cost of studying here was significantly less compared to the other countries.
How long have you been living in Germany?
It’s my 3rd year living in Germany!
What were your first impressions when you came to Germany?
I kind of felt like I was in a wonderland, full of white tall, beautiful people. The architecture is just unique.
How would you describe the Germans?
Very formal, punctual, and straightforward!
What do you like the most about Germany?
The freedom we are getting here and the high living standards!
What do you not like so much about Germany?
Even though people know English, they don’t speak it.
What is your favorite German dish, and what is it made of?
I love Buttercrossant, it is delicious. Buy in the early morning directly from the oven, and you can get that in all bakeries and supermarkets. It is made up of white flour used to make bread.
What do you like to do in your free time?
I like to walk around a lot, meet with friends, see a new place, or learn something new
Where do you prefer to go shopping?
I used to go to Kaufland, and now I am entirely a great fan of Gorillas, its online shopping. They deliver groceries within 10 minutes. It saves me a lot of time.
How would you describe the infrastructure and public transport in Germany?
It’s incredible, and the public transport is at the correct time. Germany has 2 different applications for that, and we can check the connection any time and be ready at that time.
Is there anything that surprised you a lot in Germany at first or that you found a bit strange?
Kissing in public, even though I have seen that in many films, was a bit of a shock for me. And also the German sauna!
What do you see as the most significant differences when you compare Germany with your home country?
People, of course, here don’t care at all, but in India, family relations have considerable importance. People need to make appointments to see their parents
What has been your best experience since you’ve been in Germany?
I am independent now. I can make my own decisions. I became self-sufficient. Make money, and I spend. Life is easier here.
What would you give to others before they come to Germany?
Learn German, try to integrate. Respect everyone, study well, Talk to people. Being a foreigner, there will be many problems you have to face don’t let yourself down; be strong.
